Why hire a freelance?

- Because only a freelance will do!
- All those translation agencies seem to have a lot of BScs and even double PhDs at hand. However, are you sure your documents will find their way to these professionals? If you send a DTP file and need a translation in the same format you can be sure the priority there is to find someone who has the software, not one who knows the substance. So, if you prefer a truly professional translation in a word processor file over the glossy DTP version with Mickey Mouse content, maybe you should choose the direct way.
- Good translation takes time. Screening translation resources is time consuming. Give the time you have scheduled for translation to a freelance rather than to an agency - agencies put the translator under pressure to show you how brisk they are, and you get less for your money.
